just wondering as I'm now the registered owner do i have to sorn the mex its been of the road since 1991 before this sorn thingy started any ideas donnt want any grief when it comes to actually taxing or when pigs fly whichever comes first

I understood when SORN was first introduced, that if the car was off the road untaxed before Sorn was introduced then there was no need to SORN it. Once you have taxed the car after the SORN was introduced, then that switches in the requirement that it has to be SORNed whenever in the future it is untaxed and off the road. I have never been made aware or seen any changes since.
