Most common and DANGEROUS rust traps on 1970's 911's is the front floor area in front of the fuel tank . The front torsion bars mount to this area onto a strengthened box section and this fills with mud and water and rots . This can cause the front suspension too snap off the box section under heavy cornering/braking !!!!!!
Here's a pick of mine , when i bought the car it had the worst repairs possible to this area . Must have been done by a monkey it was so bad . The bodyshop chopped the whole front off and replaced the lot , luckly you can still buy all the bits for all 911 bodyshells .
