  • Sainsburys Parking Ticket

Got one of these Civil Tickets yesterday for 'obstruction' Thing is, although 'the driver' was parked half in a yellow box 'the driver' did not obstruct anything with the car. It was only when the plank who parked next door parked that the car became an obstruction

Anyway, having read about it on the net it seems that they dont have a leg to stand on so i'm not going to pay Aparantly i'm the keeper of the vehicle but wasnt 'the driver' so they should chase 'the driver' of which i'm not obliged to disclose.

Anyone else had a civil parking penalty and not paid?

    They should make spaces bigger!

    Topaz,

They're not enforceable as its not a Public Highway. I had one a couple of years back having parked in Tescos. It was a busy weekend and there wasnt anywhere to park other than the end of the row.

Aye, a bloke gave my wife one in Morrisons car park ....I could rephrase that but I choose not too , anyway she just told him she wasn't gonna pay and drove off, no further action.

I'm currently going thru this myself. The wife parked my company car half over a white line at the local cinema and got a parking ticket from UKPC.
Its basically a license to print money for them when you read into it. I sent them a letter straight away explaining that it was'nt company policy to divulge personal details etc to other companies but would gladly divulge it to the local authorities or the police. Its been going on and on for about 3months now and Ive just recieved a letter from a local(ish)law firm with the intention to prosecute if I dont settle the bill in 10 days.........which is now @ £131.75.......the original fine was for £40 if paid within 2 weeks.

I read the same forums as you did and used the advice they gave, hence the above, but to be honest the debt's been obviously been passed onto "another" company and I'm not sure what to do, will have to check the forum later.

Round my way NCP controll the supermarket carparks although our sainsburys has a numberplate recognition camera cos the petrol station is at the entrance of the car park so they can time you shopping
