what tramps. think at least they'd check you were ok but you got their number. a little visit maybe in order if they dont sort you out.
It looks repairable so a good panel beater should leave it like new. get him to do a repair in the inside panel as well. for all the extra it costs, it shouldn't be noticable at all.

        best of luck

I'll leave it for the cops to get in touch with the driver/owner. The area concerned is most unsuitable for a "little visit".

Cops phoned a few minutes back. They caught up with the driver. An 18 year old. She has admitted liability.

They are not proposing to prosecute as long as she sorts out the damages. She claims to have insurance.

                To the bodyshop!

Don't know if you have the same laws as British, but common sense says they should be prosecuted for not stopping and exchanging details etc as required.
After such a hefty bump, she must have left the scene for a reason. Drunk ?.....swapped drivers etc ?

Hope the car gets fixed and seen at the lakes Either way, fixed or not, you can still get it there thankfully

Same laws apply Aled. I'll be ringing the girl this morning, and what happens from there depends on what she says. She was totally at fault, and shouldn't have driven off.

I'll be sure to get her insurance details for example.

More later......still optimistic about The Lakes Tour

                            Update:-

I spoke to the other driver earlier. She was full of apologies (hope she's equally full of money ). She's to produce her insurance to the Cops, who will inform me of the details in due course. I'll claim from her policy and if she sorts everything in cash, I'll withdraw it.

Car will be ready for The Lakes! Panelbeater says it'll be 100%. Rear quarter panel can be repaired, outside and inside. A nice bit of work however. Looks like the spare wheel took a lot of the impact, and saved a lot more damage.

                            Parts list:-(suggestions welcome)

1/. LH rear taillamp unit complete.
2/. LH bumper corner piece and bracket (thanks Mr. Horder )
3/. Rear bumper. Old one is pretty stuffed
                            4/. "RS2000" logo (PJG?)
                            5/. Twin black striping (PJG?)
