cant remember really - dad had a few over his works some time -

when i was 15, there used to be a Terracotta one that used to drive up 'our' road every night at 5.15ish -

from then on i had two A4 sized pieces of cardboard that were totally filled up with Autotrader cut outs of rs mk2 RS2's and Harriers - must have been best part of 150 cars on it - also used to get Exchange and Mart for the Mike Youngs adverts and others

wish id kept the boards, but i know they were thrown out

There also used to be a W reg lowered white Custom that used to go through Preston town centre.

Looking around Fast Lane motors, Brooklands etc for those who know Chorley. God they were the days.

For me it was 1970 , I worked as a technician at Strakers in Newcastle which later became Longs, late on in 1970 we started to see RS 1600 and later on Mexico as well as 1300 sports comoing through the pipeline. I can not describe the feeling checking out these cars for the first time they were awesome, never thought back then to take photos.

My first RS memory i can remember is an RS1800 me mate Howard used to hoon about in when i first moved where i live now back in 82
We used to hang about while he washed it and ask stupid questions (well i was only 13 at the time), it was due to him i took a mechanics course instead of woodwork at school if he wernt dead already i'd kill him for starting me on that slippery slope to being broke constantly

Yup I remember the MK1 RS2000. I think its now owned by one of the Scottish guys. I'm sure there are pictures of it on this site. The last car I saw there was a W RS2000, white with beige trim. It was a one owner car with 48k on the clock. It had a blaupunkt tape player and the drivers seat was having a small piece of trim repaired. I can still remember the fresh smell of the interior now .

I've even got the Ford RS twenty year V formation dealer poster that was on the wall .
