Certainly looks a nice original example. And when you see dilapidated 16 sports fetching nigh on £4k, it might be decent value.
Tell him to keep it. After all its only a Sport with a decal.

At the end of the day they're mk2 escorts aren't they, mostly with different stripes or polyeurethane bits stuck on the end and some contentious 'strengthening' plates for good measure.

                But they're ace......and flippin expensive!

Sounds like a lucky car to me, by not being broken up and sold off in bits! Buy it and enjoy it, many a "sport" has lost it's original looks, and these Harriers are so rare.

Definately not many originals left, even fewer on the market.
Hope the viewing goes well. Keep us updated.

would buy it myself, looks like a genuine very low mileage example, looks great in the OE spec. I suspect as was said before, some young lads just snapped the ignition lock and took it for a burn around town.

Bit pricy @ 8.5 K but you'll be hard pushed to find a better, low mileage car.

Very nice, I'd like one myself

Like most people have said mk2's were nicked all the time in the early days,so i wouldnt hold that reason agaisnt buying the motor
