I want to be part of the RSOC and am happy to stay in the club and pay my subs as I feel that without the club the RS marque will slowly dissappear.
But the RSOC forum does nothing for me and seems to cater for the modern RS cars so I come on here as this is where I can have a laugh, get good information and advice and buy any bits I require.
Also the yearly trips I go on have nothing to do with the RSOC. They are all organised by The Works Team or Oggie for the Lakes. Where we end up eventually may be at an RS Show, but the travelling to and location of camping is nothing to do with the club and no support is given or offered by the club.
This seems to be moving off topicCheers

but wayne i was trying to say the one day wonder as you call them, would be up against different marques...its not the focus owners fault.
the one day wonder should be in the the same marque then things like this wouldnt of happened, i think
good you funded the north yorks group day, thats good imo
i missed out showing at nat day cos i didnt want to be judged against modern types, only got one stamp in log book. Was at Cumbria but had trailered car there so unfair to be judged in my class. Also heard people had trailered they cars and were judged (not in my class tho)
would of loved to be in the main arena as its the main day for the club attracting people afar to see our cars
dont class my car is a one day wonder...still penalised tho cos of the system

I can't compete against the concours boys. Partly because I drive my car to all the shows I attend and park in the muddy fields the night before but also because I personally do not want to sit all day cleaning my car and having to sit by it waiting for the judges to come and inspect it.
I would love to be able to enter my car in a 'show and shine' for everyday driven cars where the judges will look at the originality of your car and accept that there is some dust on the seat runners, that you do have some dirt in your tyre treads and god forbid you have not removed every bit of brake dust from your wheels
I don't take my car to shows to try and win awards (that's my choice) but when someone comes up and says that your car looks nice and personally thanks you for having it on display this is worth more than any medal or award.
we all park in muddy fields

Correct Dave, novice is not judged on anything under side or brakes (but does include wheels & tyres)
But you would be up against all other novice RS's with more than 50,000 miles ifthe classes stay the same as this year. (i.e not only mk2's, anything with over 50k on the clock, standard or modified)
Kev Cannon entered the class this past year in his S2 RST, only normally giving it a quick once over, but ended up with 4 2nd's and 4 3rd's
But got free entry to most shows by having a log-book, and a decent place to park.
