Who thought steam locos where a thing of the past?
This week the first british new Express Steam Passenger Locomotive since the 1950's was delivered to the Great Central Railway at Loughborough for running trials, after having been steamed for the first time recently.
Named "Tornado", the Peppercorn A1 4-6-2 locomotive is due for duties pulling steam special passenger trains over parts of the main line network later on this year.
The loco is built to a design that was last seen in the 1960's, when all of the class ended up for scrap.
