  • Hardest moment of my life

Just had to make the decision to have my beloved dog put to sleep

She was a west highland white terrier who ive had for 16 years

She was in such a state tonight that i had to make the hardest dicision of my life to have her put to sleep

This is something that i hope to never have to go through again

RIP... Holly , you will be missed.

really feel for you, had to do it myself once but the best thing to do is to get another dog as soon as you can.

              sorry to hear

a good mate of mine had the same sh1t as you a few months ago

after a month he went to the rescue centre and brought back a similar dog that needed a loving home

the thing is , even now i still get the names mixed up

We said the same mate, thought we'd never get another dog - but after 2 years we had to get one, Gordon Setter - 6 years old now.

                  feel for ya mate

lost my cat, 'Bird' last month, never recovered from his op and had kidney failure, and like you say, the hardest thing to do -

just remember the good times you all had with her AND she had with you

I felt the same at the time, but I really missed having a dog. I know that when the time comes for this one it will be just as hard, if not harder, but I think its a price worth paying for the benefits of giving a dog a good life and the rewards that the mutt has given me and the family over the last 12 years.

Whatever you decide though, take some comfort from the fact that you gave Holly a good life

its a hateful thing to have to do, but if it was for the dogs best it was worth it

sad for you mate, Ive have done it a couple of times, but you will still have another but you never forget them

its an awful thing to go through, but if its the right thing for the dog then its the right thing to do.

Its tough at times Gaz but it sounds like it was the fairest decision for all. You will get over it but never forget the good times you had together.
                            See you soon Tim
