You won't get banned on totting up if you can prove loss of job woulod cause hardship, family to support, mortgage to pay etc. You need to take your solicitor , about £275 ,letter from work , bank statements etc Your solicitor will advise you. I was clocked at 100.3 on shap fell, normally an auto ban but proved i needed a licence . Got 6 points and £275 fine. As long as the magistrates see your takeing it seriously, mainly by employing a solicitor you should be ok. Got two mates who were in the same situation on totting up, they both ended up on 13 points with fines. The sucker here is even when your 1st 3 points clear you can't afford another 3 taking you over 12 again! Shame it didn't end up in court before you went, you could have took the ban, probably a month, said you had lost your licence, then gone to work abroad, taking licence with you. Think you get a clean licence when ban completed. This is what my mates business partner did!
Good luck with the job btw!

I drive a van to work and back and i trailer my car to trackdays also, for your information i had 3 speeding points and i was smashed into on a roundabout, the company van i was driving wasnt insured and i was prosecuted for no insurance!!! hence 11 points, get your facts right first!!!

Have spoken to a soliciter today and he recommends i go to court with a letter etc and pleed my case, thanks for most of the advice you have given me its been very usefull
Ah, sorry but I didn't get given the facts. Sounds like it's your employer that should be doing the grovelling in court then? Have they not got public liability insurance to cover this if the van wasn't insured for you to drive?
