standard fitment for the 2000E box, shift sticking, innit?

just to eliminate it as a possible cause you could bleed the clutch.

I know people use ATF but it's the wrong oil, especially for older gearboxes you should use EP 80

IMHO 75-90 semi synthetic for the 5 speed, personly i never recomend or use anything else, EP80 is for 4 speeds, it makes the 5 speed change really crap and stiff when cold which is why ford stopped using it in the 5 speed box about a year after they came out and changed the spec to 75-90 semi synthetic
Had ATF in a few but they don't seem to last in a daily capacity, T9 just aint got the same close manufacturing tolerences as an MT75 (which does use ATF from the factory) of course no oil will fix a damaged box, check the level and don't use friction modifyers in em like slick 50 ect i found it makes em worse and allways ended up changing the oil again after
Funny the 4 speed doesn't suffer the same probs cos the front half is the same, never understood that

Have gone for 80 as it`s a 4 speed, got the car up on the ramps tonight but need a 13mm allen for the drain plug and the fill plug(?) Been to Halfords twice today already so will pick up one of those in the morning and get onto it.

thanks for the technical info everyone.
