Why don't we resurrect the rsmk2escortclub. Run by people on this site, i for one would be keen to get involved, and run it properly this time. Open it up for old school cars and say **** the rsoc.

Main reason i stay is for the insurance which last time no one could come close to RSOC's quote

But all in all if the RSOC cant be arsed with the mk1 / mk2 marque then why should we be arsed about the RSOC

is that allowed is it, I know in OZ the value of cars that are "bought" from abroad all of a sudden cost twice as much due to import tax, I assume if you can prove it's already your property you're allowed to take it with you

I was a member of the RSOC years ago and got so ****ed off with the attitudes so much so that I sold up and got into bikes. This site and the members on it do not need the RSOC club IMO.

Steve deserves nothing but respect for the organisation of the lakes event, Ruddy/Kev fair play to you both for your efforts but why bother you also have my respect.

I trust that I speak for a lot of the chaps on this side of the water when I say that this site that is helping to build a strong Escort community over here, and threw it I have meet a lot of like minded people that I now regard as friends both sides of the water.

So sad loss for the RSOC if that is the attitude.

would it be possible to have this as our club dave, surely with the amount of people on here we could get a great deal on insurance and contribute to the running of the site,and even maybe set up our own tooling fund etc,
my humble opinion
just an idea and dont want to put any pressure on anyone
this is already the best site on the web with a great deal of people whos knowledge is second to non with a great community,
them arseholes closed there site to non members but even if you pay the fee you dont get nowt for it

we have been through this before ,i personally dont think we need anything out of the rsoc we have a great bunch of guys who have a great time every year at the various events we meet up at.rallyesportescorts,old skool ford,scottish old skool escorts are all thriving and offer all we need .track days /tours/ show and shine/lap dancing bars/cross dressers etc.i think it is a great loss for the rsoc as i know paul was willing to put a lot into it and where they will find someone with his knowledge of the escorts i dont know.(there all on this site )

I thought a car enthusiasts club like the RSOC was supposed to cater for it's members and take their interests on board, it sounds to me like the RSOC these days, may not be actively discouraging people with rear drive RS models to join, they're not taking the interests of these PAYING MEMBERS seriously.

Attitude seemingly being, if you don't like it f@@k @ff. The remanufacture of parts and putting on of shows should be primary concerns, but not @ the RSOC??????

I came here a couple of years back as very few from this scene were visiting the RSOC board and I don't miss the RSOC BB at all.

Where has it all gone so very wrong ??? I dont come on here as oftern as i like , and dont bother much on the RSOC bb either as all i see is bitching between each other .

I love the old school cars ( probs more than the 500"s ) BUT I NEVER SAID THAT ,,LOL,, and hate to see the 2 splitting apart , Cant talks take place in an official way so you lads can say how you feel face to face and maybee settle this once and for all

i would imagine now is a good time to start a rear wheel drive escort club mk1/mk2s etc not just the rs derivatives and try to get the marques back in the limelight.

you would think with car like ours with there fantastic rally and race pedigree from the past and present again winning many classic rallys, the couple of clubs that are supposed to be suporting our cars with the remanufacture of spares, and acumalated knowledge would be doing something more responsive ,

i supose as long as there cars are on the road who gives a shit hey.

lmc hadrian panels year before last considered the remanufacture of the mk1 rs wings , if the clubs had bought pressure to bear i am sure they would be available again.

its a crying shame there so much apathy , time we done something lads , we got to do it for our selfs , we have a big enough base as this forum shows .

get into remunafacture which has alreay started in a small way .
get our cars at as many shows as possible and show these poxy clubs the way it should be .
