really sad to hear this as even though i don't know you guys personally i know you were all trying your best foR the good of mk1, mk2's and the RSOC, i say sod them.
i've never had any interest in joining the RSOC because i know they would not like my car anyway, but was thinking i might change my mind when some of you guys got involved but no chance now sod them
life is to short for all this sh#t
we don't need the RSOC we have this site and many other sites that cater for the mk1 and mk2 escorts

        Paul and Kev,
If i was in either of your shoes i would have told them to shove it by now.

We don`t need any of this and should have a go at organizing our own events, with the help of some "key members" on this site.
We would be well represented from every where in the UK and Ireland, and could use the site for updates as opposed to a magazine that is out of date.

We have the knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and the best cars!!!
Is this a viable idea or just pie in the sky?

I personally would take an active roll as would plenty others i am sure..and let the RSOC get on with their petty squabbles.

It really is shame to hear that you guys that have give your time freely for the club and the membership, only to get it all thrown back in your face. (Just for the record I don't know anyone in person from here or the RSOC)

Thing it is we all suffer, it was not long ago that it was a selling point when selling a car as 'RSOC member' car was a big selling point due to the club having much respect. I think a lot of that respect is going down the plughole fast, with other car clubs and even with Ford.....Shame few have hijacked the club for the many, I'm not planning to renew my membership when it's due......just my two pen'th worth

No wonder Trudi Sheperd left when she did.....she could probably see the way it was going
The way they treat people, those who are trying to help is shameful.

I have been an RSOC member also for 18 years, met alot of people and made some good friends through it. With respect to the older (RWD) cars I have witnessed a decline in interest in the RSOC.
So I was very pleased when Dave R got re-elected as RS18 registrar and that Paul R got elected as RS2 Mk2 registrar hoping that the old days would come back.
Recent events however made me see that this is a nogo; the old RSOC of way back will never return. The enthousiasm and friendlyness of 15 years ago in the RSOC I see here in this site/forum just like Ders said.

Paul, hope your daughter is getting well, and don't give up on Mk2's.

agree with wiggy - look at the events that have been organised over the last couple of years - ALL good, well attended, even starting to pick up awards and trophies

look at the net a lot relating to rs stuff and this is by far the main club out there

examples of all the early models, friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and peeps just wanting to promote the marque

                              enuff said really
