Been there done that with 4x4's rst's etc...., and back home with a warm and friendly MK2, out of all the post 81 RS's I had the Mk5 RS 2000 was the most fun.

The AVO owners club is a bit of a different scenario though isn't it from the RSOC. The latter caters for a wide variety of cars from the 1960's through to present day whereas the AVO only covers a small part of that same period.

You'd expect the AVO club to be a bit more focused, I rather hope the MKII club - given some time - will be just as big a 'Mecca' for all of us.

is the RS club as a whole not turned into a Cossie, RST club ? even the mag has gone this way, I know theres now more of them than MK1-2's but ? is why ? have the old skool car owners left in droves.

I have to say I left the local club over here as they were so up each other it was unbelievable, some nice genuine people, but others were so brown nosing each other it was sickening.

I like it here as this is the MK2 club with lots of like minded people who seem to want a laugh, bar a few lookers and wanters who put no feedback or help for the rest. thats what the RSOC seemed to be as well ?

Ahhhhhhh, I wasn't looking at the wider picture

I know what you mean now.

I agree, and I did say that in my comment about the Essex group.

Most of the members of the RSOC - and a look at Trudis' numbers back this up - don't have an old school car.

If you think about it do you go and talk to the owners of "Blinged up" series 2 Turbos with 17" chromed wheels ?

They probably think we are snobby and elitist !
              Cheers Rob.

                      Interesting topic this one.

My limited experience is as follows:

This place is great. Good people, genuine and helpfull.

Turbosport equally so, and with a good mixture of old and newer car enthusiasts. A melting pot. The OSTD's have been brilliant, and I've met some smashing folk at them.

RSOC I find the crowd a bit distant for some reason. Post Passion Ford schism it's pretty quiet on the b.b. I don't know the people having said that.

One or two of the AVO crowd are very eliteist, and I'd prefer to ignore them tbh. Having said that I'm sure they'll happily reciprocate. Big Dave was a good member and he left big style.
