I've got bias pedal boxes on both my rally cars & XR3i vented discs and calipers at the back c/w hydraulic handbrake. Blue N/A cossie powered car has AP Monte Carlo Calipers and Tarmac vents on the front, the yellow one has Princess 4 pots and Grp 1 vents on the front.
Only problems I've had are the bias being set up incorrectly or the brakes locking on because the master cylinders cannot release fully.
Possibly the rears could lock as you say if one/both of the calipers is sticking???
P.S. I've had the yellow one (and rallied it) for 13yrs 6mths
