Whilst the prices are high all the auctions start at 99p so it is the buyers who are dictating the final selling price - not the seller !

Looks like rsjoe is trying to buy up the worlds remaining RS spares as well.

He is bidding on nearly all the items.

Joe - Havnt you got enough bits to finish your cars yet ?

Do you have a platinum fetish? Thats twice you have compared my items to platinum. It didnt stop you from buying some platinum fuel lines from me.

Maybe the dozen or so value quality parts that are very hard to find.
And i didnt think you looked at Ebay " I'm not in to this auction sh*te can you send me the parts now" not sent to me but sent to some one i know.

Maybe that price is steep for a steering wheel but imho you and others shouldn't be bad mouthing people on here because they want the best for their cars, maybe their cars deserve these parts.

Mud flap clips £55 has the place gone nuts
Like it says in the listing the accelarator pedal cap is the rare one.
Your courtesy switches if bought from Ford lately will be the incorrect ones as they were obselete a long time ago.

How could i forget the mudflap clips.
I wasnt even going to list them but if people are willing to bid on them then who am i or any one else to set a price on them.
All this type of post does is to slow down the bidding on items or was that your goal.

Anyway, I'll post the items on German eBay that I discover on this BB and if anyone needs help with the translation or transaction I'll be available! (Sorry, RSCustom - I know German eBay was a secret source, but it hurts to see the sometimes rip-off UK prices)
Rip off prices? Its an auction.
And i have seen you bidding over the odds on items aswell.

Perhaps they're hoping for the prices to appreciate, ha ha! If you consider the original price list, then add 4% inflation per year for 25 years, the prices for NOS hamstered items are pretty reasonable. i.e. the hamster hasn't gained anything! An item which used to cost £50 in 1980 should now fetch about £200 if it's been kept as a speculation object and I don't think that's generally true.

What's more disturbing on eBay is that, if someone is willing to pay £55 for a bit, then someone else was ready to pay £54.50!

I wonder how many of these transactions don't get completed, or how many brothers or sisters are helping to push up the price?

                No probs mate

When buying ANY part I only pay what I want to pay !

If the seller gets more then good luck to em !

I always use Sniper - set my limit - let Sniper do its thing and win or lose !

If I lose then look elsewhere for the part I need.

btw : - The new "boxed" boot spoiler I have must be worth at least £1500 at todays exchange rates - lol lol lol

If any seller of parts wants to use ebay, what's the problem?

It's not as though a massive reserve is being put on items to try and inflate prices.

As Dave said, if you want to buy, then bid accordingly. People are quite free to put a proxy max. bid.

The final prices in these auctions are determined by simple supply and demand economics.

                  Good luck to you FoMoCo!

if someone wants something bad enough to finish off there resto i cant see the problem with them paying whatever price they see fit.
where else will you find these items.

FoMoCo, it's strange that you consider me to be an eBayer who is willing to pay over the odds for items, who has even paid (apparently) a platinum price for one of your items, but you are not concerned about annoying me with your comments. The customer isn't always right, but he's always the customer and sometimes the seller should just bite the bullet and laugh all the way to the bank.

I don't think it was necessary to publish my eBay Alias alongside my RSII Username on a public bulletin board.

The comment made on "platinum" accelerator pedals ensued after a discussion whether they should be called rubber or plastic and was made in jest. This should be no reason to suggest fetishism on my part.

I DO have virtually unlimited resources for buying bits as you imply but, unless you want to p.m. me to smooth the waves, you can form your own opinion as to whether those resources will be spent on your parts in the future!
