  • avo site been cut

It looks like or less you are a paid up member of the avo club , you can only visit the the public forum , spares for sale & wanted , technical etc etc are all gone .
i must say i am amazed they have done this as most of the folks using the site where avo enthusiast but not paid up , does this encourage poeple to join , me thinks not.
it was a good shop window for them , but not no more just a way to **** even more poeple off
p.s dont go on there trying to complain the site police will remove anything that is mentioned about it

i think it's still in mid-transition at the moment i think as posts & other stuff is being moved all over the place.

the forum police arn't that bad....could be worse, you could be on rsoc & have no police at all ......

I think its only a matter of time until other sites follow suit and then enthusiasts are going to have to pick the clubs/sites that best suit their own needs, information and parts are the main reasons for the majority of people who roam these sites, I am not a member of any club but through this site offer free spares and other things to fellow enthusiasts as they do to me. having to subscribe is not the way forward .
this is just my opinion and im sure many will agree.

an awful lot of folks that browsed the site , and listed spares for sale and wanted , and offered there technical advice etc where none members .
i feel its going to be a bit slow on there from now on.
poor old neil will have to be content to talking to himself .

i wonder who made the decision to make it a members only thing? Personally i think it is a shame as i'm not a member but did used to use the site to give and recieve tech help and moral support. In fact i had had so much support in the last two days i was seriously thinking of actually joining the club. However, as they appear to be so inward looking in how they want to support owners of avo cars and promote the mark one escort and capri avo models maybe i should reconsider.

I also wonder who amongst their current membership joined as a result of their forum.

i cant see how the forum being members only would put you off being a member?

that was a bit short notice

i agree with plentysideways,a very inward looking move i think too !
what i need is a high horse like the others have !

I am a memeber and I try to help people where I can, I do get help back and don't mind non-members using the site. I joined to get my car registered and for a few quid a year don't think its too bad.
If things have changed its news to me, not in the click I suppose

no bloody notice at all .
or even a thankyou to the many many none members that had contributed to the site ,
it was decided apparently at the agm some months ago , thanks for letting us all know.
nice easy way to put poeples backs up.
and by the looks of it even future members , i was considering rejoining my self ,now i have finnaly got an avo car i want to keep.
it would have been nice to bring it upto the national or though most probably on a trailer ,
                            but thanks no thanks.
manners cost nothing , but i cant stand ignorance, no respect.
