surely thats one of the biggest changes from original you can do on a car?imop much more than a group 1 engine swap.

the rsoc "old school" is very clicky,by the looks of things.

but if you dont try,you will never know........
Maybe it is "as cars left the factory" and not "as your particular car left the factory"

This would cover having to swap a blown engine for one with another chassis number stamped on the block. Whereas cars with group 1 engine NEVER left the factory like that.

So you should be able to change a base model to a custom for example?

i built a concourse mk1 mexico cutom pack car back about 15 years ago it cost me back then over 12k to build , it was totaly standard in every detail as should be , i never took it out to do concourse because if youre face dont fit your car is shit simple as .
the concourse world of judging is full of tossers , its a real shame for those of us out there that enjoy concourse , i will build another but it will be for myself , and i dont give a flying f**k what anyone else thinks about the car i have more than enough knowledge to know the car will be correct in every detail down to the last nut and bolt , its about pride in a job well done , if you know and so many ther people know youre rs 2 is the best do you need a trophy to prove it .

Could'nt have put it any better big man!!! Here was me thinking it was all about the love for the cars! and building them with you're own fair hands and not the so called glory of a worthless trophy

Ian, buy yourself a highly modded mk2 and discover the true joy that mk2 ownership brings

If I was to gut and rebuild an Escort to such a high standard, I would make the decision to either make it a concours car or the car that I wanted.

In a way I see the point of people that say Worthers is too shiny in places, I mean if I was to gut and rebuild a car it would be to use and therefore I would powder coating the axles etc, but having a high gloss finish on the prop would make no sense to me, I'd just make sure it was well protected against the elements.

If you are looking to build a concours car then surely it has to be put back as it was i.e. matt black prop, X-member, axle casing etc etc as it isn't going to be used on the road and a similar level of protection to that which FoMoCo gave the car should suffice.

I've been to a number of shows and have seen which cars got the trophies and wondered how it could be and decided it must be down to nepotism and politics so I've always steered well clear of it, the best thing that you can do with a car like Worthers is to take it to shows let people enjoy it and maybe enter it for non RSOC event concours, as it is too good (and probably too expensive) to drive around.
