i'm afraid i don't know much about the RSOC lot or about concourse and from what i've heard about the RSOC i don't want to know, but having said that i can fully understand how you feel Ian you have build probably the best RS ever and you want to show it in concourse without all the shit that seems to go with it and i hope you manage to one day
In the mean time bring it to any other show and it will be the star attraction and you will get and give great pleasure out of it

My understanding of the concours "Rules" is for the car to be as close to how it originally left the factory as possible. IE...No shiny bits etc.

At the end of the day, I know which cars i would prefer to see, Worthers, EIB and XPT along with the Pop.

I also thought that concours this year was purely down to the cleanliness of the car or am I mistaken???? If this is the case then shiny bits will always look cleaner than the dull old boring bits as per factory??

Kev, your right, it doesn,t mention the word originality once. It does mention the word cleaniness a few times, thats my arguement, i could have kept the standard tank, carb, airbox, suspension steering wheel, but i chose to improve the car, mechanically and cosmetically. Maybe that,ll be Worthers downfall,

Unfortunatly National day concours has been lagging behind regional days and still is seperated like it was 5/10 years ago.

Last year there was still not a seperate Expert classes.

If the classes stay as they did last year, then you will have the option of Standard or modified classes. In standard class, cars are awarded an additional 40 points (10%) for originality.

It should only be out of these 40 points that you would loose on due to finish etc....

However in the past some judges would wrongly mark each section down if it wasn't original. For example a mates 3dr always used to get knocked on paint as it had had a respay and the competition hadn't ! ! !

So he allways used to loose when a certain judge was judging, and win when anyone else judged.

Most people on here know how i got on last year, and if EIB is going this time it will still be shinney shinney! thats just the way i like her, i always thought concours was better than it left the factory but that's not the case.

cleanlyness is the key word nowadays, youll be fine Ian as you stated

concours has had its arguments from day one and will always be talked about, one judges eye is different to anothers

                      btw you know my thoughts

Dave, i value those thoughts, the unfortunate thing from my point of view is that the person who will judge my car doesn,t like it, he likes the car he has the most say in. Do you remember that 80,s band, i think they were called Orange ??, "Rip it up and start again" cu on the 21st

If the RSOC lump us all together, then surely it must be based on presentation and cleaniness. Their decision. Otherwise their decisions are contracting their actions
