Mk2 Custom - 2l Pinto, flat front, 5 speed MT75 box, - NOW SOLD
Just looked at all the MK2 Mexicos that I have listed here and am quite surprised to see only 3 built in March, quiet month for the Saarlouis peeps.
And as the 1800s were Mexicos originally you would think the chassis numbers I have for the Mexicos would be near to the ones of the 1800s that I have......wrong theyre miles apart...........strange
anybody got an RS2000 built in this month

Were the chassis numbers based on the engine numbers by any chance?

Mine was Jan 1976, so 31 yrs and 2 months old now. I feel old now.
for example GCATTM10000 to say 100003 are the Mex numbers and the 1800s are GCATTM50000 to 500004 a distance apart
Just used any old numbers to explain btw
Dave, I don't think it's strange at all, as all special models were built in batches, from what little info I had on harriers, there were 3 tidy batches Dec '79, Jan 80 and Feb '80, @500 a time.

Don't know if you've any VIN details on those???
Mine was BBATWP954210 (I think?)
No sorry Jamie no info on the harriers.
The 1800s werent a special build when they were on the production line
The 1800s were MK2 Mexicos and have the engine code LE and the engine number of a 1600 OHC pinto, the engine numbers on the fitted BDA is not documented on the body plate whatsoever,
what i would like to know as the 1800s were mexicos in the month of march why arent the cars all in the same run from that month.
This is apparent with all the 1800s in every month, the Mexicos build numbers are a long way from the 18
