I think the RSOC was looking at ways of increasing membership at a time when Ford havnt made or likely to make an RS model now or in the future.

My own thoughts would be to encourage ex-members to rejoin and retain current members Old or New Skool

    spot on dave....

what about talkin with the other registar for the old skool mk1 escort and capri,to increase the number of all old skool cars at rsoc event not just mk2's or are both of thos groups of owners more intrested in the AVO club?
at regional group shows it is always mk2s that there are most of.

id like to second some of paul t's comments.

a postal vote for any deciding factor would be an excellent idea

we have all got money for a stamp

Also any voting slips could be printed in Rallye News or added as a leaflet so no extra postal charges for the RSOC

This way would ensure ALL current RSOC members have the opportunity to have a say on the running of their club

Only consideration is the counting of the returned slips

have been in the rsoc for the last 15yrs, and have seen it change quite a bit. as you would expect, we, the old school are now the minority. but over the last couple of years there has been a large upsurge in the old escorts. the club dont seem to of acted on this, hence the breakaway clubs and web sites. just look how many members there are on this site/turbosport/osf/sose.
this post is not to slag off the mk2 registrar , but i do think he should have grabbed the oppurtunity to promote the old escorts when there has been alot of interest in them lately. really, apart from his poor attempt at a display at donnington, he has done jack 5hit. he cant even manage an article in the mag. he should be at the commitee arguing our case for re-man parts and organising events for us. his position is up for re-election this year, but i can see him staying in. all us old school boys are dotted around the country, and most will probably not be able to make the agm to vote him off. ( lets hope for a postal vote)
i would like to stay in the rsoc, to have the backing of a major club, but would like to see someone in there, perhaps on the commitee fighting our cause.

might be an idea if only those with a car registered with the club could vote only for the registrar of that model, and those wishing to be considered for a post do an article in rallye news on why they should be proposed. ok it might be a drawn out process but it could be done i would think, and who better to vote on a registrar than the people with that model

only an idea paul but i can see no reason it couldnt be done. i also think that with the strength of the old skool scene at the moment there is no reason why the old skool owners should not have far more influence in the club, i think this would benifit both the club and the old skool owners, but as i said before i think the best way to do this is from within as members,
