I personally dont belong to any club, the only association i have is this forum, which i have found invaluable. Peoples knowledge and guidance is again invaluable. The motivation and banter are second to none, and i,m sure ive made some good contacts and great friends from this board. In

I think its only us (The RSOC members) that can do anything about it. We must write more articles, push for better positions at the shows, get more cars out and shout louder.
These cars are getting older and rarer now. I think the people at the top of the RSOC understand the heritage and respect that.

I have been asked/advised on many occasions to turn this BB into a "club"
Whilst I think many will want to join I personally feel there is only the need for one club - The RSOC
Where most ex-members are becoming disillusioned is the way in which the RSOC continues to disregard how little output the members are getting from the RSOC and its representitives towards MKII RS Mexico's and MKII RS2000's
Collectively we can all make a difference and hopefully enough will put in writing to Rallye News their views on Old Skool and the RSOC
If 100 people can express an opinion to attend some if not all The Works Team outings in 2007 then I am sure even more will turn up if they felt valued by the RSOC
Why didnt the RSOC have a representitive at The Lakes Tour 2006 ????
Why was Rallye News Not present ????
Why was the 30th Anniversary of the MKII RS Escort such a poor turn out for Regional Days and National Day 2006 ????
Look you lot get the idea now put it in writing to Rallye News and see what they say !!
I stood for registrar in 2005 but was outvoted on the day - The RSOC can only go on the vote taken on the day !
If you want to make a difference then stand up and be counted
Do not simply view this thread - ACT ON IT
I feel sorry for the MKII RS Club as that was an opportunity now lost
That club could have mopped up ALL the MKII RS owners then and now but for reasons only the club knows they let people down who paid money and received nothing in return
So lets all support the RSOC but we all must begin to see the RSOC supporting us !
I want to see other "non-posters" on this thread as the usual suspects can be seen as trouble makers, shit stirrers etc etc

Unless of course The RSOC "sort it out" early in 2007

I agree on a lot of whats been said, but as for going to an AGM that is one very long journey for the Scots.
I have been a member of the RSOC for just over 3 years now, but my first show was at Aberdeen in 04 and I'm afraid not 1 of the RSOC members approached myself or my wife, now I know some will say I should have made the first move, but it was my first show and I was very shy, didn't know anyone and hoped a "new" RS on the stand with a scots reg some one would come up and break the ice from another group.
All I can say is that since joining SOSE I have done more than double the usual miles on the car and have met a group of like minded enthuisiasts who are VERY friendly and help you with any problems, and most of all the shows we attend are local.
I know I stay in the sticks but for C&E Group to have a show in the borders is a 3hour drive for a local group show.
I will stay a member of the RSOC and will attend Cumbria next year, the only RSOC show I intend doing, but I will also stay with SOSE, the friendly, non backstabbing, non whinging group.
Sorry Dave but this is my opinion.
