  • Carnival Red RS1800 for sale

That made you look (I'll change the title after a few replies!!)

I knew years ago that out of the 109 cars one was Venetian Red but it was only earlier this year I found out there was also a Carnival Red press car. According to Classic Ford mag recently it disappeared a long time ago, does anyone know what its registration was and whether its fate is definitely known? CF mentioned a red one is rumoured to be on Jersey?

How many press cars were there? JJN***N (?) was the first (rolled at a test track?), ONO804P was its replacement which is still about I think and the Carnival Red one. Is that it?

On MEX 1T’s RS1800 wanted thread a SWN car is discussed. I was interested because it was first registered in Swansea, were any others of the 109 first registered in Wales and are any still about? Here’s the area identifiers:-

AX, BO, BX, CA, CC, CY, DE, DM, DW, EJ, EP, FF, FM, FO, HB, JC, KG, NY, TG, TH, TX, UH, WN & WO.

A brief answer to your questions:

The carnival red one was definately scraped in N. Ireland the reg no was JJN 100N.

The car in Jersey was lead that i had and is yet to be confirmed, some months ago now

The press cars that were known are JJN 100N, JJN 112N, JJN 981N, MVX 26P, ONO 804P there were also quite a few dealer demonstrators

Cars regestered in wales: 9 out of the 92 cars that i know of, 6 of which are still known today.
