Know what you mean
Anyway I digress, the RS 1600 would be the only acceptable version of MkIII escort I would consider buying, the LHD version of course without the LEGO brake pedal!
yeah, agreed, you'd start breaking on tuesday to stop on wednesday, bloody crap brakes .

Always been a MkII man myself, although I did own that Olympic Mk1 RS that Charlie Chisholm bought off me, I bought it part restored unfortunately bought it at the wrong time and never had time or money to get it finished, 100K on the clock 3 owners if I remember rightly would've been a beauty as the seats had been re-upholstered engine box and rear axle had been done by one of the previous owners.

Would have been a beauty

16i prices are definately on the up , been watching the 'bay' to pick up a second one , just a knacker for spares but they all seem to be running into decent money. I think the mk2 prices have helped pull up the prices of the other models.

I removed what wood was fitted as it was knackered, and looked bloody awful in the car too! The opening rear 1/4's that I sold with it (bought at Ford Fair from AVO stand) which were originally fitted (as an option) never did get put in so I see, flogged them on I take it.
Very very nice end result but 18K is too much for my liking and I'm about to buy a MkII RSII and get that up and running.
