my mexico is totally standard, there are very few mexico's left in standard form....id prefer it the way it is any day of the week over a modded mk2...its the way I bought it & its the way it will stay as long as I own it....if i wanted a modded mk2 id buy or build one...my mk1 van will be modded....its the way i bought it so it will stay modded....

the only thing about the mexico is trying to keep up with more modern RS's when I bring it to shows cause im always the last in the pack but I dont care....I love it just the way it is....Ive been offered big money for it & refused it.....I know I would find it extremely hard to find another one....

                  different strokes for different folks

Modified or Standard love them all.

I'm going back to a standard type of spec (modified to use).... i.e. lossing the World cup X-member and bits that are over the top for how the car is used.

But what do you do with your car was bought new with dealers mods !

on a RSOC Local group (Kent) trip the Mk2's and older cars always lead the way, thats how it should be.

Mine is pretty much stock, and it's fun to drive.

I've done a few trackdays in it and surprised a number of people, including myself!

I would have thought a VW PD engine would be better as it's a far superior engine to Fords pile O shite.

the pd is a good lump, our remapping guy in poland can see a good 400lbft without any major mods (and 200bhp)

but (correct me if im wrong) but the TDCI lump has the usual ford bellhousing pattern, or at very worst the same as the duratec (which adaptors are off the shelf)

the PD 130 (150 is pony) would be a better engine - but finding a rwd gearbox to bolt to it would potentially be agg
