Hi it's my old car some amount of blood sweat and tears went into this and cash as well lol I traded it plus cash for a escort cosworth , engine build is meant to be a gems stage 3 head unknown cam and high comp bottom end I put a fancy starter in it as a standard one couldn't turn it over , was a proper pig to start had seditas set it all up etc , re con rear diff , everything on that car is new I will keep my eye on this thread , still looks great in the pics , I always wanted to put back seats in it

thanx for the reply, yea as u see I stripped the car and rebuilt it the way the new owner wanted it, I fitted oil seals and gaskets to the engine but did,nt remove the head and also seen marks ground off the cam! escort was put on the rolling road when re built and the operator was very happy with the pinto he commented on it as being a very fit and healthy one! did u sell it to n.ireland?

I sold it to Mt Motorsport well traded it and he sold it to I think Dominic ? The exhaust manifold was very close to the o/s engine mount I couldn't get to the bottom of that the first exhaust was worse so I fitted a new janspeed which was better but not great , I got fed up trying to start it I just couldn't get the back of it at all

I sorted the exhaust manifold issue by replacing the inner column as it was oversize where it had been modified before and fitted the steel cups to the rs engine mounts in turn raising engine to where it shld sit and providing clearance, also replaced the main starter lead as it was,nt the proper inner copper wound type lead and not carrying enough amps to the starter,

Brilliant mate I got the car 80% complete and tried my best with it it was barley running when I got it , I just got fed up had to be careful what way the plugs were in as it flattens the tip , I had to mark them with tip ex and out them in a certain way

I will try dig pictures later i got the car and bought on impulse with a full cage fitted but rattling about, 1 bolt in the front , the engine sounded like a V8 would barley start had dellorto 40's the wrong distributer , Dash didnt work at all - i fitted the stack , had bucket seats , 4 link set up was on but nuts were missing , exhaust that was on it hit everything it was near , there was no water scooshers , lights didnt work , there was no heater - I fitted one but had to cut it in half to get it in , had a 4 speed rocket box in it with 2 metal plates as a gearbox mount - I fitted a 5 speed type 9 box , Somone had broken two bolts on the o/s engine mount on the block I managed to get 1 out ,there was no bonnet catch system I fitted the bonnnet pins, It had a metal Tin sump bashed with a hammer and vibrating on the engine cross member I fitted a Alloy sump , It was ****ing oil from the engine breather as well the list goes on , I spent over 6k on it and was not happy with it 1 bit and chucked the towel in but I suppose ironed out a fair bit of its troubles due to a poor build.

Looks like you have done the bits I just did not want or have the energy for and it will be what I had wanted it to be now
