i know how you boys like plenty of pics so here goes.
            last couple of weeks;
fitted rear cossie calipers, and finished off making brake lines.

fitted new tyres, 195/45x15 pirelli and pushed her outside to turn her round. rear ride height at standard at the mo, will lower it a bit once its all back together.

got her in nose fist now so can start on the front. had couple of small repairs to do on the front corners of the foot wells.

ermmm, brakes may need some attention.....

just got wings, front panel, heater bowl and scuttle to do, then that should be all the welding done, i hope.
            cheers.

quick update on this weeks work........
finished up welding on front end.
passenger side wing went straight on and lined up bang on. drivers side
though was a mile off, and took some time setting everything up straight.
front panel on too which was a good fit. fitted scuttle panel and heater bowl too, which was a bit of a pain.
all the welds need ground down and smoothed off, which will be done another day, as i have had enough for now....
at least it looks like an escort again now though.

on taking the wings off, was it difficult to do? i was trying to take the wings off van, but the spot welds on the a-posts are a bastard to cut off as im cutting into the a-posts with the angle grinder.....wat way can i get around this? .......

the car is coming on nicely, love the wheels.....what colour are you going with the car?

aaron, wings were already off when i got it.
as for spot welds, you need to get a spot weld drill bit(machine mart £4)
and drill through them. there shouldnt be welds on the 'a' post. mk2 wings have three bolts inside the wing, and one on the bottom corner where it joins the sill. only welds should be along the top. i will get a pic.

aaron, this pic from inside wheel arch looking back. 3 bolts here and one outside on the bottom.

these are the little bolts. 10mm self tapper. get them from any motor factors. bought 10 this morning . 13p each.

                              quick update...........
car finally ready for prepping for paint.

car was collected on wednesday, and taken out to my brothers, where its getting painted.

started to prep it and put a skim of filler over where i have welded in new panels.( lower rear quarter and outer sill)

first coat of primer under bonnet.

while cars away, gave me a chance to build up my new pinto.

been busy collecting parts over the last few months, just a few things i am short of. (front door cards, carpet and rear seat.)
should get the shell back in a couple of weeks, then i can start putting it back together.
                              cheers.
