This was my first fitting using the original holes from the previous owner

I had a few comments pointing out that it was too high causing the sides to point up so I bought a new one and lowered it by a few mm.

Alter the arches or the angle of front spoiler? I have seen arches fitted at various heights so I'd say this isn't too much of an issue but I think what we are trying to say here is the front spoiler angle definately needs adjusting. Check out the picture, I have used the car as a datum and it clearly shows the front spoiler angle is way off (or appears to be way off).Originally posted by alancdavis View Postwell I guess if I want to alter them it will mean new wings etc ,,

It looks like the front arches need to rotate clockwise to lift up the back edge and bring down the front, this should then make the front wheel look more central. As long as there is enough wing metal the existing holes can be welded up, arch repositioned and riveted. Even if there is not enough wing it's an easy job to add some metal and start again.Originally posted by alancdavis View Postwell I guess if I want to alter them it will mean new wings etc ,,
At the same time do the rear arches but get the tarmac version which sits above the swage line.
I still think the spoiler will need to be lowered slightly as I had too with mine, again the existing holes can be welded up, as I did. It's best to do it now before the prep and paint, a bit of filler and you would never know it had been altered.
If it was my car I would approach the company that did it and show him this thread. If he is as experienced as you say he is then he will see that it's not right and agree to sought it for you.

As the front spoiler is vulnerable to damage on a forest rally car some builders will sacrifice the look and fit it as high as possible on the front panel, this will then angle up the sides as fitted on the above photo.Originally posted by windymiller View PostBet you wish you'd just left it as it was now Alan!
How does it sit with the wider wheels on? Think this spoiler looks like it's a similar angle to yours, though different arches:

There is nothing wrong with the arches or spoiler.. it's the way they have been fitted..!!!! I think you'll find Gartrac didn't design and make them to be fitted that way.Originally posted by alancdavis View PostI guess that every set of arches made bt different companies will have some difference
As I said these are the Gatrac arches and they are what they are

My front spoiler is quite high and had to trim the front valance lip off, if it lands hard and hits the sump guard the front panel should hopefully not take a hit.Originally posted by rallyreturn View PostAs the front spoiler is vulnerable to damage on a forest rally car some builders will sacrifice the look and fit it as high as possible on the front panel, this will then angle up the sides as fitted on the above photo.

We allways fitted them, as they should be and put a new one on as part of the winter rebuild.Originally posted by rallyreturn View PostAs the front spoiler is vulnerable to damage on a forest rally car some builders will sacrifice the look and fit it as high as possible on the front panel, this will then angle up the sides as fitted on the above photo.
