  • Time to start the Amber One

Been a while since I brought the MK2 home so thought its time to make a start on the refresh

Striped out the interior and was pleased to find all in good order , no previous welding and none required., so quick wipe down , fit transmission tunnel sound deadening pads and a coat of Hammerite.

Also please to note all the cavitys have been waxoiled but will still apply some more before putting it all back.

    Front floor pans ok

    Rear floor pans ok

    Rear tubs all ok

Next thing is to fit the arches

Sounds like useing Hammerite on the floors is frowned upon ,,

Whats the point of gobbing that crap on them Alan when they will only rust through from underneath, thats where they need protecting outside the car. Hammerite is not the easiest stuff to remove if you had to do work later on.

Just doesn't make sense to be honest Alan, hammerites great on gates and railings not on a nice mk2 floor pan
