What dims did you use to make the brackets? I used the "how to prep an escort" for the build of my car and made the brackets to the specs in the book and mine look about right.
Back to the arches, and in particular the rears. I've imported a set of forest arches from the UK and will be fitting them the same way.
Lining up with the bottom swage lines, takes the arch lip over the top swage line. Any other way and there's too much hanging down at the bottom. Perhaps not so precisely British made as we are led to expect!

Its silver foil tape, quite thick, tears easily and is very sticky. Once properly stuck down - usually with a roller or similar it is supposed to stay put up to 270 mph. Hence speed tape.
