The clarke 140e is a good mig and should be more than well able to do the job, just take your time to get use to it and it will be plain sailing from there.
I use the clarke migpro 90 and when it runs out of gas I use my cheapo gasless mig inbetween times. The gas mig is a lot better for panels where you want to keep any distortion to a minimum.
Keep the pics of your Mex coming, I will be keeping an eye on the resto.

A be doing it for years.my welder is over
15 years old and only replaced the Noel and tips
So u will manger fine with a Clarke welder
Keep at it u will get.a fix old fords every day
