Oi oi lads!... Well tbh I havent been on any car forums in a good while. Been grafting like a good un on this here mk1.... some ****ing man hours going into the shell I tell ya!

However she is looking very well and is taking shape.

thats some work going on shifty...just read up on th tread for the first time....great shell to start with and not much panels or welding work to be replaced....but plenty of new work been fitted....keep it up

Aaron: Thanks mate, Tbh yes she was a very good shell however after the strip down I came across shoddy repairs and some tin worm sadly... however not all bad though just a fair bit of graft had to go into the shell on top of the new extras I have been adding. The b/gbox tunnel is in, fully skidded, seam welded, fuel tank platform etc all in and all repairs done.

She is fairly taking shape though and I am really pleased with how she is coming on.... no wonder right enough as I have pretty much worked on this car everyday over the past few weeks! lol.... I need a drink!!!!

Heres some up to date pics of the shell pretty much complete... new panels fitted etc... some cataloying going on and shes getting prepped for paint at the mo!... cant wait to get some fresh paint on the auld girl... my facking finger tips are rubbed aff with all the rubbing doon!!!! lol






So as you can see she is coming on well, after I have finished off with the shell on the outside I will be moving on to the inside again and sorting the firewall... which at the mo is ok however doesnt look that great so it will be getting sorted aswell before paint.

Thought I best take some time out and update this thread as alot has been going on with the mk1 lately.

First off I took some days holiday and came out of the workshop and ordered a host of goodies for EOO and then booked a trip over to the Emerald Isle to see the main man himself and get the craic aswell as collect all my gear... I was actually that impressed with his place and craic was so good that I went back the following morning to get some more luckies! lol




Also got a tour of the workshop



Would highly recommend C.Bradley Motorsport for sure, deffo will go back over to get the craic with Camillus again - top man.

So back over on this side of the water, things were taking shape on the shell...

The new Roy Nunn doors I got were very good however sadly the primer on them was a right coont! kept clogging up the immery...so out came the Nitromors...




Chassis to bulkhead gussets in aswell as front chassis leg tubes...



The original firewall in the car was $hite so.... cut the whole lot out and started again. Looks much better now...




Also got the door bars in...



Then it was time to prep the shell for paint...



Got some nice new guns for the job...



In primer...

Well time for another update!....


Thats EOO all in paint now after alot of hard graft and I am well chuffed with how she is looking now...
