had it just over 3 years, gave a grand for 2, 2 door shells,

I didn't want the other one but he wouldn't sell them separately. Other one was just a pile of crumbs with no V5 but this one came with id and was pretty solid. Swept other one up and weighed it in for 180 quid, we tried dragging it onto my mates low loader and the axle came away leaving the back end of the car where it was cos the rear drums had seized.

So basically after a bit of fannying it cost me 820 quid.

Bit more steady progress, my welder pal's finally got my other pal's splitty out of the door to the painters so I'm hoping and a praying for a bit of decent progress on mine now then I can have it back to put back together. He's promised me it will be ready for painting by the time he goes away in 3 weeks......Alas I'm not holding me breath, he said he'd do it for my 30th and I'm 33 this October!!

Will post a few more pics in a couple of week of it looking much the same no doubt!!

passenger sides done and coated with stoneguard to stop the dreaded tin worm getting in again (going for bomb proof over originality) , front and wings are only rivetted on at the minute as there's enough of a gap between the front of the door and the wing to house a polish family .....fortunately it seems the same at both sides so hopefully that means the car is straight

Sorry for the crap quality of the pics, was a bit of a squeeze to get in and the light was a bit crap.

I was flailing a bit for a time, nowt seemed to be getting done with it, young en takes up most of my spare time and the missis has got it in her head we should think about moving house. Nearly swapped the lot (shell and bits not wife and kid ) for a 1600 4 door. But came to my senses and sticking with it, got to that point of no return where there's a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel that I catch a twinkle of now and again.

Well the 3 week deadline's long gone and things are still not loads further. Good buit of progress has been made but it's lots of fiddly bits now that are time consuming and don't appear to be a lot. Although a lot of it it being made with sheet metal rather than spending a fortune on acres of panels.

Floors done new and we're working our way towards the back arch, the chassis rails been fully repaired so structurally it's there now. Every days a day closer I suppose.

Pimer's a bit thick so need to run over it with a bit of fine grain and put somet a bit thinner on.

Look at you, cracking on nicely with this, I know what you mean about the fiddly bits, you feel like nothing is progressing even though it is, keep at it mate, you will get there.

I hope you've stashed the Escort elsewhere in the meantime?!
