The car seems to have taken a leap forward recently, Bled the brakes and they are "ok" for the mo. I need to have another play with them but happy for now. Finished off the firewall and then managed to clean up all the glass and fit the opening quaters and door glass properly (oh what fun the was). Ended up taking the winder mech off and dropping the glass into the bottom of the door, re-connecting the winder mech and then installing the quaters. Bit tight but all went well in the end. 2 hrs for the first door, 20 mins for the second!.
Managed to get a number for a chap (Vinny at Warrington Windscreens) and he flirted the glass in without incident. They were some complications with me not having the correct heated screen (it said Mk2 on the box!!) but once swapped over, all was well (I dare not take it out of the cardboard for fear of breaking it). He did comment on the great quality of the rubbers and that it aided the job no end (See Sharks for those, that's where mine came from). So all the glass is in and sealed. Note - make sure if your fitting a heated screen, use a sealer around the glass channel to prevent any shorts ue to water ingress.

Now that the galss was in, I had the rear seat recovered with a kit from Aldridge. I also fitted the harness's to the floor pan between the squabs.

It actually fits better than this and clears the brake pipes. I'm going to make up a cover for the handbrake mech and some sort of organiser/pocket thing for the rear seat face. One I can take off in case we need to use the rear seat.

Final bits of electrics (air horns and working out which relay is the heated rear?) and then the carpets to be done.

Moved unit and Escort had to hold for a while until that was sorted but back on it now. Thanks the Leon's thread on the resistor wire, I've found my niggly issue and in the process of taking it out of the loom (in the car so not the easiest thing to do).

Once this is done, I need to fit the carpet and bolt the seats in as all the dash stuff is done and all works fine. I do need to add a earth to the fuel sender unit as the plastic tank won't let it earth out. That should register then.

Not sure if it's too high but will worry about that later, more important things to do before the Lakes tour!!!

The pressures on for the lakes..rebuilt the subframes for the seats as they didnt put me where I wanted to be, but with playing around with chocks of wood and some measurements I sorted it out. I love my welder!!

Cleaned the car out (again!) and drilled a placed in new supports for the seat bases then applied a thermal liner to cover the area inside the car where the exhaust runs under. I had already applied some thermo tec to the underside and so this should help keep the heat inside down. Then cut and stuck in the sound deadening. It's apparently the same stuff they use on Toyota's but I got in a roll. Hopefully it won't affect the brakes too much

                  Carpet next.

With a bit of faffing and cutting (around the cage and handbrakes mech) the carpets are in. Need to pin down the back edges of the front carpet and add the ally trims but it's getting there now.

The foot rest is also to protect some of the loom that sits behind it.

Seat's and fire ex's in now. Plumbed into the engine bay and connected up the pull cord.

Harness's and rear stowage next. Picking up pace now and it's exciting again. Was a bit down over it all, it's took ages!
