    • Nice looking shell pal! You should be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel now. I've just entered the tunnel

        Thank's but it's a long tunnel..

I did get around to zinc the underneath today, next stage is to seam seal all the shell joints and then to stone chip using Upol Gravitex.

        • Hi!
          Wow what a great thread!
Just went through the whole thing.
Must say I was very happy when I got to the part where you cut off those disgusting engine bay cross brace mounts. They bothered me from the first page.
Your modified gearbox x-member needs a bit of beefing up.
          I really admire your perseverance!
          Keep up the good work!

            Thank you for the comments,

I'm still working on the gearbox crossmember and will be adding 3mm gussets on each side when I get my work bench back in the garage.

              • Started to work on the doors, the passenger door has already had a new door skin at some point in it's life and is okay other then a few minor repairs, but the driver side is original. The repair that I did to the bottom of the frame has warped the skin slightly and there is also some rot so I decided to replace the skin.

Skin removed and frame preped ready fo the new skin:

I fitted the door to the shell to check the alignments and gaps and other than a some fettering and skim of filler here and there it's not too bad a fit.

                        • I got the enjoyment from building it Alan. In reality I don't have the time or money to go any further and rallying these days is way too expensive for the average working man.

I would love to see this car in the woods and that will only happen if somebody else takes over.
