so, I've only waited 23 years to buy this part for the Mex'

the fact there was a hole in the vinyl on the top right of the existing dash top above the clocks didn't bother me so much back then obviously as the insulating tape is still on it even now !

thanks for the eBay heads up, picked this up today and it really is 'mint'

I guess this officially means I've made a start on it

Cracking thread Sharpy - I'm going to be very interested in your progress. 12 years!! mine was only away for 5.

Whatever happened to that "embarassing things you did to RS bits"? Back in the 80's, when you could get stuff from scrapyards, I needed a replacement grille for my V reg 1600 Sport. The only one I could find (for about £10) had F O R D lettering. No bother I thought, I just prized the letters off and adapted my oval Ford badge to fit. I even took off the chrome clip on bits!

                          so another brief update:

                          some more eBay treasures arrived

a nice new front grille, seeks light blue Ford oval badge

Roll cage from Darran at Escort-Tec

                          and far more importantly................

the new garden shed kit turned up today so I can get going on making space in the garage to get the Mexico home
