heres a couple of pics from andy g.
its all painted. The underside has been laquerd, the top has still to be polished before the mex decals go on.
I was over today for a look and to drop off my seats at the trimmers to get the aldridge covers fitted. im liking the underside very much, I just hope I can keep it clean!!
im VERY happy with andys work, I cant wait to get it home!!!
Thanks guys.
It would be nice if it was ready for the lakes but I'm not going to rush rebuilding it to get it there, I don't want to re do things cos I didn't do it right the first time.
Yes it was upol raptor it was the tintable one, used about 6 tins but depends how thick you want it used 8 on my own one but it is thick in places (think there are pics on my own resto thread) and I didn't colour the first two so looked patchy, just normal schutz gun pressure 60-70 psi but you can alter the texture by changing the pressure.
well the mex is now home!
I had to borrow a mate and his works car transporter to bring it home and luckily the snow, hail and wind held off for us to get the 230 miles home.
to my amazement the mex didn't get very dirty either
im very happy with sharks's full window rubber seal set. they look very good and andy said they fitted well.
im very happy with it. I must have spent about an hour just looking over it after I got it home lol
now the fun of finding the bits to repaint and rebuild begins.
im now looking into changing the front springs to lift it an inch, ive had to dig through my box of recepts to see what was fitted and what poundage the springs are. -2 190lbs from burton
its amazing how much things cost back in the day ie new grill from ford £28.60!
I really need to pull the finger fully out with this now, times getting on for the lakes tour and I've not got all my parts back yet!
My interior has been away getting the Aldridge covers fitted which is coming home today ( I've not even seen it yet! ) and I sent my engine away for a small check over due to a drop in oil pressure and it's now getting reconditioned due to a worn crank and a few other things.....
Cars looking smart mate. I was talking to a boy that knows you the other week. Colin sorry don't know his second name. He stays in Oban. I took my mk2 over to Erskine hospital to show him. Lovely fella.
