with the problems with the oil pressure gauge pipe breaking, the dash had to come back out, therefore while i was there i thought i would remove the age old problem that most escorts suffer from with the "burnt" speedo cable where the exhaust manages to attack it.

drilled new (large) hole in the floor and it is a much neater job altogether








one les thing to get caught and dragged loose !

car not left my garage yet Joe, howevercar now running very well , was having the timing / Mixture set last night (thanks to Biker 123) and all going well, car revs very smoothly and nice, however after about 20 minutes running, noticed an oil leak on the floor, quite a lot of oil actually

killed the engine


had a good look around and found that the oil pressure pipe had split near the block, undone the nut, and the split was 3/4 around the pipe.




just so glad it didnt happen on the road,

no damage to engine, still had plenty of oil (phew)
