Very nice suprise

Have stripped out all the interior to sort out my heater motor ,motor ****ed new one ordered from GMS.
The very nice suprise was the state of the floors ,inner sills ,A posts etc.













Only one little repair found ,done some time ago



Well pleased ,no welding needed here next year when I strip it right down

Goin to leave the doors off ,interior out and show the floor instead
Think the inside is better than the outside ,repaint next year me thinks.

Gaz you need to strip the whole heater out ,then split it in half (see Tango returns resto thread) to get at the motor. New ones from GMS £60 posted or Daza got one from Bosch for £40 odd plus vat. The motor comes without fan and plastic surround but just reuse old ones ,fan is interference fit on shaft of motor , comes off fairly easy and plastic surround unclips.

my blower doesn't work, is it likely to be the electrical connection on the top that usually rusts??

got my clutch release bearing change two years ago, driving home there was a nasty grinding screaching sound coming from the car, i shat myself and thought the clutch had ****ed up big style, nope it was the blower motor, thank ****, but its stayed that way since, just wear some extra socks to keep warm now,

There is a small card in which the spade connectors fit on and a resistor for the slow speed is connected. I had mine out recently and noticed the metal bits were rusty, so I put a spot of waxoyl on them avoiding getting any on the resistor, to stop it rusting anymore before it fails. Maybe your problem is there! I would check that you have power up to this point first before pulling the heater out though.
