Gents, took trim out today , quite pleased with the floorpans , rears are quite good . Fronts have had repair panels tacked over the original metal so I will have to unpick this to see what lies undereath. Took the opportunity to remove the sill that was half fitted to the drivers side to reveal an half decent original sill underneath.

Another Sunday , another hour or two in the garage . Got most of the ancilleries off the engine ready to drop it out and then decided to have a go at the front drivers side floor pan. As earlier in the post it was evident that the previous owner or MOT man had put a new panel over the original. Well he certainly wasn't much of e welder (luckily) as he had only tacked around the edges , or maybe he was saving filler wire , any way with the panel removed you can now see what faces me in the coming months. It isn't as bad as I expected , from the tunnel out to the chassis leg is sound but the edges of the floor where the outer sill welds underneath is a bit lacey in places and both D panels will need replaced. Also took out the heater matrix and removed all the soundproofing from the inner bulkhead in general all this area is in A1 condition.

Whilst the wifes out Xmas shopping , I'm busy taking more of the car to bits , this time the nosecone is off , front panel not bad but a bit rusty where the light backing plates mount. Wing ends where nose cone fits are a bit scabby but new wings going on anyway. Cylinder head off as well ready to drop motor out tomorrow (onto the wee lads skateboard).

Regarding the bulkhead , I think the car must've spent some time under a tree as the bulge was full (and I mean full) of leaves , nothing that 'grinders R us' can't sort out !!
