Minor Paint Job Before The Lakes Tour

I took the car into the paint shop to get some minor bits done to the front wings and bonnet before The Lakes Tour as after 28 years the primer was starting to show through under the paint after plenty of polishing

Once in there we noticed a few little bits that needed sorted which has continued to grow by the day and what started out as a couple of days work has now ended up with a full a new scuttle panel fitted (the old one was rusting under the windscreen rubber), repairs to both door sill tops (again where water has collected under the door rubber seals), removal of the black vinyl roof as this was in need of replacement sometime in the next twelve months (I like the car without the BVR and may relace in the winter) and a full outer body respray

Front Nosecone removed. Bodywork is in good condition behind the nosecone (shaky picture )



Replacement Scuttle Panel supplied by Darran and Mark at Escort Tec. Quality replacement as usual from these guys In place to check fitment before final fixing.


Will keep you updated as the job progresses.

blimey mate car looked stunning before hand

mine needs a few little bits doing and i'm scared to take it in, in case it turns into a full blown job that i can't afford at the moment

Just left him and been told it will be preped and ready for paint on Tuesday morning
