    • well went into the garage tonight see if she was still there the mex i mean not the missus yep shes still on the axle stands money fund has pretty much run out and they wonnt let me into the bank anymoreplus just not getting the time but on the plus side got the v5 in my name after it got lost in the post surprises there had to fork out £25 for a new one and im only the 4 th owner ,would like to have it ready before the good weather comes as i would like to get a few miles under my belt in her just to make sure nothing falls of only major spenditure now is to retrim the seats front for now looks like i'll have to cash in the kids insurance policies its a pity as my passenger seat is in really good order but the previous owner sorted out a small tear on the drivers side seat said it looked like new then put it away and got lost hence the drivers seat having no material at all nevermind will get there patience me boy

            • thanks guys am not going to rush and buy rubbish stuff ,could have got a shabby but useable drivers seat and other bits and bobs but thought sod it why spoil it now its been of the road since 1991 so another few months wait wonnt harm her on the bright side at least it wonnt rot in the garage

                well i gone and bought the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle ,came into a small amount of money and the missus ok'd for me to buy the rolltop covers from altridge trimming will have to do it myself though as the budget donnt stretch to them doing it ,have got the hog nose pliers etc so hopefully crack on with it over the hols once they come ,and altridge said to phone anytime if i got any probs,this my xmas and birthday pressie for the next couple o years ,she thought it was for the complete seat till i sat her down and explained

                        • managed to aquire a bare pair of RS struts just in case am not happy with the 2.8 struts ie maybe to hard on the road anyway going to strip them down paint black etc etc had a look the other day and found this

                          this part here wonnt fit over



                          this part here as there is no groove ,different insert


                          am sure they are RS struts as they have the steering arm holes



                          any ideas guys thanks in advance

                          • you can cut/file that little tab outta the way, or leave that cup washer off completely, you will need to fit a heavy duty washer with the same inside diameter in its place though

                              • another wee update got my seat covers from Aldridge trimming ,very happy with service and there stuff looks ok ,well to me anyway

                                a few pics ,stripped the seats




                                stripped,cleaned and resprayed the frames and seat runners
