          • got a few updates to show you, so will get some new pics up later, i got me fuel tank boot panels and handbrake console ready for fitting, went to go pick them up from Sean @ Rally Weld, a big thank you to him for a quick turn around and the quality is excellent, got to work out a rad next so he can make that for me....

            • Looking forward to seeing those pics, got to agree with you about Seans products at Rally Weld, I always go to him first and if he hasn't, or doesn't do it then he'll make it for me.

              • Some pics below of the fuel tank/boot panels, and fuel pump setup, was hoping to have all the pump and tank plumbed in but my fuel reg/filter didnt turn up today, using all teflon/ptfe fuel line and teflon -6 jic fittings in stealth black from Torques changing the filter reg in the pic for a black V6 one as that comes with threaded fittings so i can use the jic stuff on there re too, so i can minimize the smell of any fuel if any, good quality stuff but its expensive when you add it all up, hard to show how good the tank is as once its in you cant see any of it lol

covered the top of the tank / panels in gloss finish carbon look vinyl, was going to paint them white but think it tones down the interior with a bit more black, also covered the rear side panels in the same stuff.... need some fasteners/clips to secure the 2 boot panels, shame to cover up the fuel pump setup got a single wire connector for the fuel pump and thats sorted...... vdo dip tube sensor all works with the dash but i am tempted to fit a 52mm vdo guage to the centre console to match the works escorts

passenger side door upper painted satin black and omp led nav map kight fitted , copied the setup as used on VLE where the wiring comes throught the top panel and into the dash, not to everyones taste

p clipped all the rigid fuel line and battery cable, used a rivnut gun to put threaded inserts into the floor so i can use m5 stainless cap heads bolts insteads of just rivetting or screwing a bit more work but makes the overall look a lot neater

Sean at RallyWeld who made the tank also made me a handbrake centre console to raise the hydraulic handbrake up of the floor so it sits above the seat/chassis rail running across the car, also gives me more option of moving it further forward and at angle so it'll be more easier to use had it made to match the existing centre console, it needs a bit of realcarbon fibre to go on top and theres loads of room for putting more switches in if i need to.....

brake bias know fitted into the right hand air vent, used a bit of carbon fibre i had to mount it, wasnt happy with the alloy knob i had so bought a second hand red Tilton one so once that arrives i'll swap that over....

battery cable has been p clipped and run under the pass seat and all neatened up so that just need a circuit breaker at the battery end and thats all sorted, only wiring to sort now is for the Electric power steering and wiper, All lthe ights, indicators, spots, horn, dash, reverse light are working

slowly eating away at the list of jobs to be done..... once fuel tank is all sorted its on to finishing the exhaust, once all the weldings done on that i'll put some fuel in the tank and she should come to life.....

once i know it runs right i'll get my mate to make up some driveshafts, once theyre done i'll get on with working out what i need to plumb all brake lines.... need to sort out a mechanical handbrake lever too, either gonna mount a mini handbrake to the right of the drivers seat or i might have a go at a Hilux pull ratchet handbrake that'll fit under the dash undecided yet....

Cibie spot covers fitted a bit brighter white than the diamond white but cant be helped

got a quick release for the steering wheel, had a plate made up to fit that to the CBradley boss, forgot to take pics, will get one posted up tom

                      • I really like that fuel tank set up and covers Chris, I didn't want to follow the Group.2 manual and fix a Perspex screen inside. The way you've done it was the way I had visualised it, I may have to borrow your ideas!

Will RallyWeld have these patterns on file and did they charge you much to do them?

                        Regards, Tim.

                          You have pm Tim

yeah i didnt really want to do a perspex firewall, trying to get it all hidden inside so it dont look like theres a tank there, the filler neck/pipe i was hoping to hide it behind the panel but it's not its about an inch further out so need to make a cover for it, not many pics of the fuel setup on the group 2s so had to make it up i got the book where it shows the layout of it and that how ive based mine on....

not worked out how much fuel the tank will take but it dont look far of the size of the original tank that was underneath
