my rs2000 restoration

This is my 1977 RS2000 which i bought from essex a couple of months ago ! i only seen the pictures attached before i bought it because i live in manchester the deal was done over the phone i then sent a recovery truck to bring it home ! since these pics i have stripped it and its now at the welders having floor pans , spare wheel well , and other bits in the usual places ! i will post some more pictures in a bit when i figure out how to resize but things are moving nice and fast and im hoping it will see tarmac in twelve months , thanks for looking john

oh dear,
tale tale signs of 1/4 panels being fitted years ago

Always rust out where there welded on.

Accident damage years ago.

Be cheaper to reshell.

i thought to miself why do i keep seeing mi garage floor when i look inside mi car ? work now in motion !! car stripped and welding being done , all rust cut out and replaced with new pannels or fabricated peices ! ive got an old timer on the job and his work is red hot !!

As a suggestion why not post this and all the others in the resto section as by the look of things you will be some time and it will help to keep all your threads, pictures and information together.
will be a usefull link for yourself / others in time.

hi thanks for advice but dont really want a shell ! i want to keep as much as the original car as possible , i dont belive the rear was replaced or been in an accident !! water had got under the vinyl roof and sat under the rear pillars causing most of the rust ! Darran could be right he probably knows alot more than me about these cars but im not convinced .
