Hi guys - been lurking for a while actually..............
Already spoken to Charlie and he can't take it on for the moment so I'm still looking unfortunately because in my mind Charlie is "THE" bloke to take it on.
Thanks Richard appreciate your comments
Will give you a call and have a chat

Had a long chat with Mexico Mark at the NEC - he actually put me off the guy I was going to use.
Sorry Richard.... But It's always best to tell it the way it is.
I was going on someones very recent experience of using the guy you mentioned to me.
In fact the car is back there awaiting completion, after being given to the owner once as a completed car.

Mark - It isn't an issue with me - I want it to be right as I am going to be spending a fair bit at the end of the day. If someone is inconsistent with their work then they have to sort it out but I'm not going to go near them until they do.
I didn't realise Alimax actually did bodywork - I've got one of their fuel tanks - it is a bit slow to fill but a beautiful piece of work.
Charlie would still be my choice even though I'm going to stay with period competition .............
Finally settled on who is doing the car after Charlie let me down completely - only waited nearly a year but I can understand the reasons I have been given.
The decision is that it's going to Mark Annison at Canada Motorsport in North Walsham. I've seen his work on a race BDA Mk1 and it is bootiful (well he is in Norfolk ).
Had a good look at two or three other rally/track cars they've done and they are a work of art which you wouldn't want to hide with paint at times.
He had a good look at the old shell and it was worse than Charlie (and I) had realised needing both front chassis rails working on as well as a lot of other cosmetic and strengthening work to make it a viable rally car so I've got a Service shell for the car instead - it's only done 3 years of road and road rally use and is in darn good nick for something that has sat in a barn for 27 years!
Interesting history in it's own right as it is/was a Mk1 on a T registration.
