well her indoors was confused as to why I was polishing a catering size baked bean tin LOL
well got it fitted but it is ok but i am not happy yet that the bottom half of the manifold is pushed far enough onto the top sections as it seems a little low at the front so it may need to go on another inch or so but not certain yet well I will find out once I start it I suppose eh lads mind you not an easy job laying on your back really could do with a ramp tbh as this way I could get more purchase on the lower manifold section

well got the wiring sorted relocated fuel filter to the engine bay all plumbed in tried to get her to fire up no joy as it seems the starter motor is toast so ordered a new high torque jobbie to cope with the high compression of the engine so if all goes to plan I am very close to getting her running but we will see how it goes.
Also in the process of fitting the door cards front and rear and the new fire wall so am making a little headway

just for you Graham I will take some of the wosp starter motor mate the real ****er is that where the main cable (thick one) connects to further is underneath nearer the block so it is about 3" to short so I now have to buy and run a new starter motor cable from the battery to the starter motor now that is dissappointing but these things are a challenge.
I aint really been that busy on her of late as i am so busy at work and time on the car is of a premium when I get home especially having three kids two of which are twins and nearly two and really want to spend time with me so it is really difficult to get out there for a decent amount of time and i am a little disheartened as it did not fire up last time.
I am still a little way off getting her on the road but I will get there in my own time and then I may sell her after I have had some fun in her and enjoyed it but we will see.
I am toying with moving away from FMC Cars as with all that has been going on recently I really think it is time to move on into pastures new after 12 years of loving the cars and the RSOC I feel totally drained by the way things seem to be sliding out of control in the RSOC and perhaps I might just not renew my membership as this maybe another way to enjoy the cars without the baggage of the club but who knows lets see where we go from here.
Sorry about the rant and that I have not been on here for a while.

Lets take it one day at a time as my membership does not run out for a while yet but I feel things need to improve.
Anyway back to the thread and my car, sorry Graham aint took a pic yet of the starter motor but I have striped back the top end just to confirm the timing as the quaife vernier although a quality bit of kit was set up wrong upon inspection so back to the drawing board with the timing and start again and check the whole lot all over again as I dont want to make toast of the engine upon fire up as it is about 4 grands worth so better I go over it with a fine tooth comb and make sure it is right.
What I am hoping is to get her on the road for Castle Combe as it will be a nice run to run it in as it will be about a 300 mile round trip so this will be perfect so that I can then upon my return give it a full oil and filter change clock up some miles round the local area before a full rolling road set up to get it tuned to its full potential of around 180 to 200 bhp.
Now there is my plan so now i have posted it it is bound to go pete tong on me further updates to follow shortly if all goes well.
