        Hi Graham,

        Thanks very much

I purchased my pre moulded forest ones from R.A.C.E however Ralloy do them also...and they also do the tarmac ones that I purchased...have a look in here mate... http://ralloy.com/search.php?category_id=18

The forest ones were slightly longer and tbh held there shape alot more up the front of car..tarmacs werent as long but nearly 2'' wider...the tarmac ones didnt seem to be as thick and were more flexable....however did look the mutts nutts on the rear! lol

        Hope this helps mate

        • Well heres a small update for whats happened over the past few days....
Well I dug out AFX's old doors..one I will be able to save and put a door skin on...the other is goosed!
Managed to salvage bits off the doors though including the door handles....
so got em off rubbed down and painted and laquered up, then fitted to the doors...what a difference a set o handles make lol

          Collected some more gear too....
6mtr of the fuel hose, c/w fittings and the filter king...also got a set of new twin throttle ables and exhaust gasket for the wee xflow but thats aother wee job.

Some genuine Ford adjustable tca's, polybush's etc

Grp4 big alloy rad, with fan mount to side for oil cooler etc...

          And the wheel

Iv tried sitting in it making broom broom barp barp noises but it aint the same! lol

            • Shifty, it's not just the noises you know..........it's also got a lot to do with volume.

I've used this technic to get me through the last 4 years with my build, and I've got it down to an art

PS - It's looking real good.

              • Just seen the pics and post on our mud flaps. You thought that the tarmac ones were too thin. The reason is, people with tarmac cars do not like any extra weight. New cars log booked after Jan 2010 have to have mud flaps, these must protrude 40mm beyond the tyre. Our tarmac ones comply using 9" tyres and wide atlas axle.
I must admit that our mud flaps do look nice against the red paintwork. Its a very nice car. Will you be out in it next season?
Do you mind if I copy you pics?
If anyone has any coments on our products please feel free to post or pm me.

                        • Thanks very much lads!

She will be on the road for April, thats the target to get her all ready for then and get some miles under her belt before the lakes plus its my birthday in April so that would be a great birthday pressie to myself lol

Coming on here and seeing all your top motors also spurr me on to get her done

Well we got snowed in yesterday and had a day off work....so it was ovcourse an ideal time to get stuck into the mk2.

Decided we were going to tackle the side windows on the doors...however after a search about discovered that I didnt have the clips to hold in the exterior window rubber channel ....so will need to order up some of them.

After that we thought we would stick in the heater....nice straight forward job....aye right! lol

There was no way the heater would fit under the dash with the large gearbox tunnel AND the cage bar I had going across under the dash!...doh!

So not long after discovering it wouldnt fit...we decided to cut out the bar and make it a bolt on which does look the buisness actually. Ended up using roll cage clamps welded on one side at each end etc and re painted the bar.

So heater is now in, will probably dig out all the ducting and vents and give them a good wash in the sink then will fit the passenger side. Once the wiring and dials are in I will sort the drivers side or do that at same time.

So were getting there right enough lol

                          Thanks again boys
