  • Great work and love the attention to detail you are giving it.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

      • cheers for the interest everyone

        still going

next up was the heater box, I wanted to go right through it and fit a new motor, new rad and redo all the foam sealing strips on the flaps
        kit

        stripped bare and primed

body finished , this was a nightmare for some reason the paint reacted twice and I had to bare metal it twice , done in the end though

flaps painted, new seals and new motor

        stuck back together

fitted with new bulkhead seal and I reoiled all the cables

next job was pump 15 !! litres of waxoil into everywhere, nasty job and it took a day but hopefully will pay off

then I could refit my qtr panels and seat trims, these were all the original parts that responded well to a good clean up ( I even stripped the ashtrays polished them with G3 and oiled the mech )

then I got a call from the platers my zinc'ing was done, quick pic while I sorting it all !

which meant I could start doing the doors so I regreased all the locks and repainted the window regs

next job was strip the back of the bumpers and etch prime and paint so hopefully the rust wont get a hold from the rear

I then fitted and rebuilt my number plate light, no pics
all my bits then came back from the shot blasters nice and red oxide and I picked my axle up from Gartrac who had welded on my panhard rod bracket and checked the axle for true they also decambered my springs

so I have just spent the last 3 days "holiday" rubbing down, etch priming and and painting in satin and gloss 2K turning my garage into a paint booth
        nice mobile

        done

        done my tank too

        Cheers Glyn

                          • latest update as I have had a night off

wasnt happy with the parcel shelf so did it again with some more crincle cut paint, this time it went off uniform

got my new ignition barrel swopped over to an early NOS key and built all the collumn back up regreasing all the little bearings

and fitted with my original springalex

then got all my rollcage in (pic before I cut all the bolts back and fitted the plastic covers)

next job was get the car watertight and finish the windows

ordered some glass polish off ebay and had a go at the scratched side windows, they came out not bad, not perfect but not bad

then stripped and painted my frt qtrs rebuilding them with rechromed catchs

                            done

                            fitted with all new seals

then it was onto the axle this didnt start well

                            bugger

so another shackle blasted primed and painted and leafs were fitted, the new isolators I'm using I wasnt happy with the location through the saddles to the axle so I cut out the middle and turned up some stainless pins to locate the axle properly

next stop get my rebuilt LSD back in

got a few more bits on the back

Rob fitted some new bearings on my half shafts which all proved too much for his press (cheers Rob )

next I had a go at the tank, new petrol hose all over

                            fitted, and boot area finished

next I had a go at the pedal box, using new cylinders, AVO club bronze bush's and new rubbbers

servo too (I swopped the bracket round after the pics )

                            fitted

                            Cheers Glyn
