thats the thing. if you spend £12k on paint and however much on new bits for the car and a retrim and stuff that makes these cars worth £25k to £30k for a escort...

a guy on osf forum just been quoted £35 a litre for ici paint trade price with discount

£35 is about right for 2k paint but then you have activator and thinner on top .

the more you buy the bigger the discount, i bought 5 litres of paint and got 1 free.

my mate showed me a 5 litre tin of laquer that cost £600, but thats for water based paints.
European emmision regulations are coming soon for paint and water based will be mandatory.

i payed £1800 11 years ago to get the mex painted and that was only the outside,checks and under the bonnet the car went to them rubbed down and only needing a few dents repaired, as someone said good quility paint is about £50 ltr and you still have hardner,thinners and the primer on top of that so i would expect to pay £4000 upwards for a whole shell now thats why i painted my my last one myself and my next one two
