  • This is what I have done today....The turret doesn't fit the inside contour of the arch very well, is this a problem?....I've seen loads like it! I was going to fill in the gap with a slither of sheet metal, is this common or have i fitted them wrong? I've measured it against the other one which I was told was correct and its pretty much bang on the same. And just ordered those pins...hope it rectifies my door sag problem.

    • Here is some progress...getting to really enjoy doing this escort now, its starting to look a bit like a car!!! Still have to sort out that hole on the rear and sort out the wing to the front valance bit, but had it tacked there for the wing mounting rail...enjoy

                  • Yea got it sorted...I think...I hope!! Had the local news around our college to do a report, but I doubt the beast will have an appearance . Oh yea got those door pins and it has helped the probelm but hasn't made to door fit, which is rather worrying!! I think it probably because I welded the outer sill in too high, I welded it over a lip and I think, now, part of the sill was the lip if you understand me. Any suggestions or do I need to rip that sill off and get another one?

I've made a rose jointed strut brace for it as part of some coursework at college, here are some photos.

Some proper work is getting under way as from Monday. Will keep you posted.
